Mechanicsville Dentist

Before moving to Richmond, Virginia in 1999, Dr. Behnaz Movahed had lived in Dallas and Philadelphia. She pursued her studies at VCU School of Business and graduated magna cum laude with a degree of Bachelor of Science in accounting in 2003. A few years later, Dr. Behnaz decided to pursue dentistry due to her love of working in healthcare, helping her community, and interacting with people. She graduated in May of 2018 from VCU School of Dentistry.

Some of her fondest memories in dental school were her external rotations throughout Virginia where she, alongside her classmates, offered free dental care to patients. She has also enjoyed volunteering for underserved communities such as Virginia Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy projects in Wise County and Grundy, Virginia as well as participating in the VCU Jamaica Project where she provided free dental services to their community.

Dr. Behnaz has devoted the majority of her time and skills since graduation working in public health dentistry. She has also provided dental health services at Military Readiness events throughout Virginia. She strives to have a strong and trusting relationship with her patients and to empower them to achieve optimal oral health. She is dedicated to pursuing continued education in various fields of dentistry to stay abreast of the new research and technology. She is a member of Seattle Study Club, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry.

When not in the office, Dr. Behnaz enjoys spending time with her two children, family, friends, and her dog. Some of her hobbies include cooking, photography, gardening, listening to podcasts, and watching movies (especially Marvel)!
